Jota Ramos --Jardares Por Fuera Live 24th September 2010
Jota Ramos
Currently touring Europe Jota Ramos is part of Colombian Hip Hop group Soporte Klan. Fearing an increasingly uncertain future of poverty in his hometown, Jota Ramos, a young Afro-Colombian is fighting for change in Villa Rica using hip-hop music. Their songs focus on community issues and by getting young people involved in the group, he is taking them away from the temptation of drugs and street crime.

Jardares Por Fuera
Rumba Flamenco fused with a touch of Reggae, Swing & Hip Hop
Formed in 2009 'Jardares por Fuera' fuses old style Flamenco with Hip Hop, Reggae, Rumba and Swing in a fresh mix of simplicity and extravagance. They've recently had a storming summer playing killer sets at UK festivals from Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Secret Garden Party and Lovebox.
The band comprises a group of London based Spanish musicians, Davinia Baño on vocals and Pablo Dominguez on the guitar joined by the lead singer of 'Mano de Dios', Jackson Scott (vocals and guitar), Gori Matas on the Piano and Accordion, Ayoze Hernandez on the Cajon and drums and Joe James on Bass. They are constantly collaborating with musicians from the local scene to develop their very unique style.
The name 'Jardares por Fuera' comes from a local expression of Murcia (Spain) that stands for an un-tucked shirt, a symbol of the unconventional, all that stays outside the rules.

Music: THE UNDERGROUND VELVETS: Venus in furs...
In the work of the Velvet Underground, Rock n Roll as an art form showed immense promise. Alas, outside the work of this band and its members, this potential was never delivered. What do WE promise? No tacky outfits, no ridiculous makeup; no Warhol lookalike pretending to paint soupcans in the corner of the stage. Tribute acts can go to Church as far as I'm concerned. We cover the greatest songs written in the history of modern music.

ABOUT SEEDS OF CREATION
Seeds of Creation was formed by Seddik Zebiri in early 1980, and they played their first gig on March 27 of that year, at the 4 Aces Club in Dalston. A mixture of Caribbean, Indian and African musicians, a mixture of jazz, reggae, rock and arab music.
So began thirty years of continual development through many musicians of many nationalities. They played in venues all over London, and outside at Glastonbury, in Wales, at WOMAD in Reading on the Greenpeace Stage.
In 1992 there was a change in direction, to world music, predominantly North African vibes.
The band played at Hackney Show and many community festivals in London. Hackney Development constructions and destructions (exploding tower blocks).
Several gigs at Hackney Empire (benefits for peace movement, Hackney Mind, Stop War in Kosovo, JCWI. The Wag Club, 100 Club, Africa Centre (many times), Rhythmix. Salmon and Compasses, Union Chapel, Pembury Tavern, Fulham Festival, Rise Festival in Finsbury Park, Victoria Park Respect Festival, Africa Day in Trafalgar Square and, of course, The Samuel Pepys, Mare Street, and many other venues.
Among the artists who appeared with the Seeds of Creation band and participated in the jam sessions organised and led by Seddik at the Pepys are Algeria/UK band Fantazia, Moroccan group Momo (BBC Award for World Music nominees) and Gambian Fula singer and riti (one string fiddle) player Juldeh Camara (BBC Award for World Music winner in 2008 with Justin Adams - Culture Crossing category). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqHAe9nOC24

WORM FINE GIRLS EP LAUNCH EAST with

http://wormfood.co.uk
Boom! The Worm's 3rd and wickidist CD, FINE GIRLS, is now ready!
Featuring 4 original tunes and killa remixes from Wrongtom, Sumsin, Aaron Audio and Illbilly Hitec, it bangs basically. So we are celebrating with a huge party at The Worm's virtual birthplace and spiritual home, PASSING CLOUDS.
This one will be BIG. This one will be BIG. We even have special late license until 5am!!!
THE WORM - Fusing african melodies, crunchy basslines, garage shuffles, reggae skanks, soulful vocals and raps with live violin, African percussion, laptop, trumpet. This music makes you feel GOOD.
THE RESONATORS - One of the most highly regarded reggae acts in the UK right now, Resonators are proof that the spirit of the original roots sound is alive and well, bringing a modern, fresh edge to the scene.
Resonators released their self-titled debut album in May 2010, with mixes from highly respected producers Nick Mannaseh, Richie Phoe and Darren Nations Vibrations. The LP has since received radio and club support from the likes of David Rodigan, Mark Lamarr (BBC Radio 2) and Jstar.
August 2010 saw the release of the single 'Sweet Love Affair' on 7" vinyl, through WahWah 45s. Currently riding high on Juno records chart, the single has been played on radio stations across Europe, America, Australia and beyond. Reminiscent of the lovers rock sound, Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio1) described Sweet Love Affair as "a summer bubbler".
FRAN AND JOSH - classical Flamenco guitar fused with dance, reggae, ska, indie, dubstep, hip hop, jazz;......
two young guys with guitars,
great voices and an overwhelming feel good factor
WRONGTOM - given that the last person he did a remix for was Roots Manuva (the wonderful full album of Wrongtom Roots Manuva remixes entitled Duppy Writer), we were thrilled that Wrongtom did a mix for us! You can download it free at soundcloud.com/theworm He will be mashing up the place with his standard mix of ska, dub and jungle, plus a few surprised no doubt!
SUMSIN - ola mec la sumsin! classico! hokaaay!!! most famous for rampaging around psychedelic festivals in his underwear and organising bizarre barrowjams in opulent alleys in west london, Sumsin has been pushing forward his own blend of bizarre twenty-first century 'soca-merengue-tek', a superfast blend of carnival styles and bleepy minimal techno. Add to this supersleazy, mock-Spanish reggaeton lyrics, and you have a sound destined for the idolatry of a legion of (probably male) fans, if not staggering commercial success. He too has bashed out a disgraceful remix for the Worm, which can be listened to at soundcloud.com/theworm Touch him, he's real
LOUIS.LOU.I (making bread) - bringing the rootical heartical reggae mixup styles, holding it down upstairs in all kinds of ways.
If you have ever had a good time to The Worm, or with anyone in it, or at Wormfood, or anywhere in London, please come down and celebrate with us!!!
Big oozes of nematodic love

Kasaï Masaï successfully marry a respect for vintage Congolese music grooves with an overwhelming urge to move the dance floor
http://www.kasaimasai.com
Based in London and led by Nickens Nkoso, Kasaï Masaï brings us the Traditional Sound of the most remote equatorial villages with a Urban Twist.
"Looking at what I do, everybody will guess Congolese music! Not only that it is my roots, but I am also proud of the impact it has on the rest of Africa. But, because I work in this field, I always have to analyse our music up to its fine details. However, on a more personal level I really love reggae. With reggae, I can let myself go and enjoy the final groove as it is meant to be! My favourite artist is Bob Marley, as I feel the messages he was trying to put through are still of relevance today in the 21st century."
"Rather than being the richer or the stronger, in the village the Alfa male is the most interesting dancer. A sense of humor and novelty are the main assets! Movements revolve mainly around the hips. There is no right or wrong way of moving as long as your body moves around the rhythm. A certain degree of silliness is also a great value added. So, guys, never take yourselves seriously when you are trying to impress the ladies with your Congolese hip movements!"
Ilka Schlockermann talks to London-based Congolese singer http://www.bbc.co.uk/africabeyond/afr...
Named after a river, Kasai lies in the heart of the rain forest where many tribes such as the Pygmies still maintain their traditional lifestyles. The Masai, just like the Baka, are another dignified tribe whose lives still centre around a nomadic existence.

Gung Ho Down/ Conscious Theatre
This is what happened to me at the witching hour: 1st July 2011, abduction and compliance. Or Non.
World premiere of "?": a site-specific experiential theatre piece addressing issues that all of us are forced to confront within ourselves and the world we live in while they wisk you away to a different world altogether, co-produced by Conscious Theatre and The Gung Ho Down.
I did not take the pill so I have nothing to tell:
"because you didn't take the pill your experience ended here, we hope you will be intrigued and take the pill next time so that you can have the full experience."
I am grateful for some phone footage from Ramsey Pietro Nasser.
The music was recorded while I was abducted. I can hear Shama Rahman and Anna-Helena McLean Sitar and Cello.
