Passing Clouds, Cloud Factory Adventures, FEAST OF THE DEAD ALL-NIGHT UNDERWORLD PARTY, Dalston, Hackney, London, Halloween, juggling, fire juggle, Glebe Road, ELECTRIC SWING CIRCUS,
Cloud Factory Adventures and Passing Clouds present an all-night celebration of Samhain and the thin veil between life and death!
As the Gates to the Underworld open, inviting the spirits of the dead to bring us their sacred knowledge, we'll be welcoming in the beginning of this dark season with a toast to all that lies beyond our mortal understanding.
Join us as we light a candle in the darkness and commune with our ancestors, all the while raising our goblets, howling at the moon, and dancing until dawn with the very dirtiest and debauched purveyors of swing the ghostly East End has to offer!
The Electric Swing Circus is a 6-piece fusion of saucy 20′s swing and stomping electro beats. With an explosive sound that reverberates back through time, the ESC hotfoot their way through everything from breakbeat and house to reggae and dubstep, all with their own unique style of swing.
A full time, touring band on the international circuit, the ESC’s live set includes electric double bass, vintage samples, gypsy-jazz guitar, keys, drums, synths and electro beats.
Prepare yourselves, ladies and gentlemen - the circus has come to town!

OPEN Dalston hosts a stellar cast of performers - including Michael Rosen, Ian Sinclair, Dan Cruikshank & The Dulce Tones! - to entertain you at a cultural-political soiree on Sunday evening, 23rd November. @ Passing Clouds, Dalston, Hackney
http://opendalston.blogspot.co.uk/201...
The High Court Judge, Mr Justice Foskett, has today granted OPEN permission for a judicial review of Hackney's decisions to allow total demolition of the surviving Georgian houses in Dalston Lane.
After a tense morning in Court, when OPEN’s barrister picked apart the advice given to Hackney’s Planning Committee, the Judge was persuaded that OPEN has an arguable claim that Hackney had failed to properly consider the options for a genuine conservation-led scheme, when it granted planning permission for total demolition last March. The claim will now be heard over a full one-day judicial review hearing in late November
If we win we should recover most of our legal costs. All donations , after legal costs and expenses have been met, will be refunded pro-rata.
OPEN has to raise a further funds for the legal costs of a full Court hearing later in November. We urge everybody to donate whatever they can to support the campaign. Please give whatever you can afford. It's the small sums that are really adding up!!
You can donate using the Paypal or by direct transfer to OPEN's bank account: OPEN Dalston Barclays Bank Sort code: 20-46-57 Account 33274659.
Show your support by following @savedalstonlane and @opendalston on Twitter.
Live Music: 9pm-11pm
Followed by networking and drinks.

Spitalfields Life Contributing Photographer Simon Mooney went inside the terrace in Dalston Lane to take these pictures, permitting us a glimpse of the historic interiors that could easily be lost forever.
In 1800, Dalston Lane was – as its name suggests – merely a country track through agricultural land, but the pace of development up the Kingsland Rd, served by the brickyards that opened to produce building material from the London clay, delivered three symmetrical pairs of dignified Italianate villas constructed by Richard Sheldrick in 1807.

The Turbans is an international musical collective bringing together exciting music from traditional near-eastern and eastern-European styles and their own compositions, to create a modern and energetic performance with reverence for its ancient roots.
Growing from the intertwining paths of many talented musicians travelling the world, this extraordinary project has grown in a few years from very humble beginnings, into a progressive name on the London music scene. It's members have gathered from countries such as Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Italy, Greece and England to perform in concerts and festivals around the UK, Turkey, India and Europe.
The Turbans is independent and run by the musicians themselves, bringing music to the public, young and old alike, mixing vibrant spontaneity and authenticity with multi-genre instrumental and vocal excellence.

***GNAWA GRIOT ft. SIMO LAGNAWI & JALLY KEBBA SUSSO***
(Morocco meets Gambia)
Passing Clouds' favourite Gnawa master Simo Lagnawi collaborates with our beloved Gambian Griot Jally Kebba Susso - the Jimi Hendrix of the Kora-world. These two superstars have been weaving their ancient African musical forms with Jazz, Folk, Funk, Samba, Electronic, African drums, music from India, Japan, South America and yonder, and it is their mission to expand and interlace the boundaries of each individual tradition, whilst keeping its heart and soul intact.
***RAGGA TWINS with DJ BLAZEMORE***
(Jungle/Reggae/Hip-hop)
Riding on the wave of their triumph at Beatroots earlier in the year, the Ragga Twins are the link between UK dancehall reggae, jungle and hip-hop. This is a retrospective of their classic (and now very rare) early tracks produced by Shut Up and Dance at the start of the 1990s.The Ragga Twins (alongside producers PJ and Smiley, AKA Shut Up and Dance) revolutionised UK dance music at the start of the 1990s bringing Reggae and Hip-Hop styles together to create Jungle.
