Broadway Market 2nd October 2005

It was early morning and things looked sort of blue. 

 

It was all cold setting up in market. 

Is this Venus rising in Scorpio as Mars sets in Taurus. 

It was all activity

In London Fields the  delivery cars and the tents and the joggers

 Gazeboed galleries brimming with paintings. 

It all looked a bit like a medieval encampment.

A  glass eyed unwink  under the trees

The glass eyed look shivered me. 

An artist purveyor of cast artist body parts! piles of thumbs lips teeth and noses all at £1 a piece All under the plane trees. 

I did not want to overlook nor intrude on the macabre activity. It's too early in the morning. 

This path was  the drovers’ route to the London markets: a historical place to prepare for presentation and slaughter.

The shadows on the playground toys. 

Its still early morning and chilly. 

Mrs. Thatcher’s face Whorholed  as a receptacle for cloths pegs with 'lusions of sado-masochism and pain  by the pegs! washed and hung out to dry.  I hope I avoid such cartooning.  Sort of sympathetic magic.. Scarey.

A gallery with balloons.  I will come back! Sophisticated, but isn’t it all.

And still not stalled out. Beneath the trees with light on neck to warm it up. The folio of display still not out of covers.

The light shadows are still across the path. you can always tell the time of day by the shadows in London Fields.

The encampment is a happening

All hives of activity and reserve.

The joggers in fitness pursuit have an entertainment. They are so dedicated they take it in with only a sideways glance. Mussels thought with sideways glances.

The fully prepared. Waiting for all comers and fully set up. The Stand-up of the travelogue. The phrasebook and the joy. 

The fog on the Himalayas avoided the need to paint the detailed vista through the pictured doorway. But that is another story

And still a dance the art on crisp white laundered sheets.

And a photographer photographing  with and in the light flow,

Whole galleries of works.

There was a 38 Bus at the end of the street! This is not the normal route. But this was the place to go that day. Perhaps it was bus driven driver.

 Farms here always have.. given the necessary physical obstruction as needed.  This was the physical of the street closure for art.

Or a driver with a mission. The street is closed! Hay provided by the Hackney City farm blocked the path.

Or a driver is on his way to the opening in Broadway market when Patrick Hughes cuts something!
